How will PROMIS be used?

PROMIS will allow users to:

• download existing HRQOL short forms or create new short forms from the PROMIS item banks;
• electronically administer individually tailored HRQOL questionnaires (e.g., computerized adaptive testing) through a number of secure delivery platforms (e.g., computer, Internet, handheld device, telephone); and
• collect HRQOL data for research and improvements to the system.
